| The Abeels are a family band from Virginia who perform bluegrass, gospel, and original music. They have released a self-titled CD available for order directly from them at the address below. The following comments are from the liner notes of the CD. | ||
| Dear Friends, This project is very near to our hearts. He have truly enjoyed working to bring out the best of who and what we are. When we first discussed making this recording we really had no idea what we were getting into. But with research, perseverance, and the support of our friends and family we forged ahead and compiled one of the most satisfying endeavors we have experienced as a family. We hope you enjoy the results as much as we enjoyed producing them, and we hope to see you sometime soon. The Abeels |

| Doubtless the best way to ensure that music never dies is to keep it growing in the family. And since music has always been one of the most cherished forms of expression, it feels pretty safe to assume that it will always be so. Somehow, kids who get music with their milk end up carrying on the tradition. And when you hear a talented family like the Abeels singing and playing together, you feel the strength of the link, and length of the chain. Their tradition is a very personalized one as well. Like a snowflake, it is beautifully unique. Like the Abeels, it is completely charming. And it draws you to them. How many of us wish our own folks had set down their songs and stories? We are so glad that the Abeels have. Eddie and Martha Adcock |

| Working with the Abeels on this project has been a truly delightful experience for me. They are a talented and intelligent, warm and fun-loving family. Their music is real and honest because they are real and honest. It is in their original material that the Abeels' sound is perhaps most clearly defined. Charity's Holly Ball, with its endearing melody, will linger in your heart like the fresh smell of a summer rain. Jack's Flowerdew Waltz is an enchanting tune that brings to mind images of long forgotten ballrooms and the sound of stiff crinoline rustling across the floor. But they have the ability to make whatever they do their own. Listen to Anne's beautiful lead on Wayfaring Stranger, to Jack's soulful string bending on House of the Rising Sun, to Amanda's haunting lead on The Light, and to Charity's powerful lead on Keep Your Lamps Trimmed and Burning and you'll see what I mean. I admire the Abeels. I admire their sense of family. For them, family is a place where individuality is encouraged and where creativity is nurtured. For them, family is a place where each member stands on a firm foundation of love, support, and of course, music. It has been my great pleasure to come to know them and to share with them in the making of this, their first recording. Missy Raines |
