Benefit for Madison School
featuring John Cowan, Scott Vestal, Jerry Douglas
and Bluegrass Trainwreck

April 19, 1998

Alan Johnson

Alan Johnson, a banjo playing lawyer, pulled together several bluegrass greats to present a benefit concert for his daughter's school.

Madison School is Metro-Davidson County's K-12 grade school for children with special educational concerns.

The school needs funds for computers and other materials to help the education of these special students.

The Station Inn was packed with fans who donated $10 each to the school, but this is only a beginning.

Please consider a donation to the address below.

Bluegrass Trainwreck, Alan Johnson's band, opened the show to a packed house.

John Cowan's new band was next on stage. The band features John on vocals and bass, Scott Vestal on banjo and harmony vocals, Jim Hurst on guitar and vocals, and Johnny Staats on mandolin and harmony vocals.

John Cowan has assembled some incredible musicians for this new band.
They sound as close to New Grass Revival as you can get.

If you would like to make a donation to Madison School, please make your check out to "Madison School" and send it to:
