Mark Martin
Snookers His Way to Victory in the BGN Series

Mark Martin came up victorious in the Busch Series again this weekend at Richmond. Unlike last week, Martin was not the dominate car this week. His teammate, Jeff Burton was the car to beat all day.

Jeff started shotgun on the field, but powered his way through the entire field in a short 50 laps. He was unbeatable from then on.

Jason Keller and Mark Martin had followed Burton throughout the day, never able to make a pass. With two laps to go, Keller "accidentally" bumped Burton in turn four and was finally able to get past him. Mark Martin was able to take second while Burton got his car back underneath him. The three cars took the white flag, with Martin hot on Keller's back bumper.

Going into turn three for the last time, Keller got loose, trying to take the turn too fast. Martin watched him slide as he drove underneath the 57 car. Burton came through four as Keller was sliding across the track. Burton nailed Keller sending both cars spinning. Burton's car landed in Victory Lane, the rightful spot to finish his day, had Keller not gotten in the way, twice.

Burton, frustrated, confronted Keller's crew chief, and the two teams briefly scuffled on pit road. Keller apologized for bumping Burton, stating that he had fresher tires, and got a good run on Jeff. Martin felt sorry for both teams, having watched them both land him in Victory Lane.
